My Story Unveiled

Born in the heart of Bali in Gianyar, I Made Buda Sistra Antara—known to friends and travelers simply as Buda—is a man whose life story is a testament to resilience, humility, and faith.

The second of three children, Buda's early life was shaped by struggle. In 1978, his family joined the Indonesian government's transmigration program, moving from Bali to the agricultural frontiers of South Sulawesi (Celebes) in hopes of a better future. As a child, Buda helped his parents open new land for farming while attending elementary school. But his heart remained in Bali.

At a young age, driven by a dream to continue his education, Buda returned alone to Bali. Taken in by a compassionate family, he lived away from his parents for nearly 17 years, developing a fierce independence and strong character. Without access to formal English education, he taught himself the language by going to the beach three times a day, speaking with tourists, and practicing daily. From working as a cleaner and garbage collector in an art shop to becoming a licensed tour guide, every step of his journey was guided by perseverance and faith.

Buda’s transformation extended beyond profession—his spiritual journey led him to Christianity. Despite facing rejection from his family for converting from Hinduism, Buda stood firm in love and forgiveness, attributing his survival and strength to the grace of God.

Today, Buda lives to serve others through both tourism and ministry. He is not only a guide to Bali's scenic wonders, but a bridge between cultures, hearts, and communities.

How Bali Ministry Began:

Bali Ministry and Tourism was born from a divine encounter—when two travelers canceled their tour and chose instead to follow their hearts, giving to the people of Bali. Guided by Buda, a ministry was formed from the spirit of compassion.

Buda’s journey—from hardship and self-taught English to becoming a licensed guide and devoted Christian—is at the center of our story. Through his life and leadership, we now offer unforgettable travel experiences that uplift both visitors and the local communities they touch.

What We Believe:

At Bali Ministry and Tourism, we believe that tourism can be a force for good. We combine faith, culture, and service to build meaningful connections and leave a lasting impact.

Our goal is to make every visitor feel like family while using the power of tourism to:

  • Support orphans and schoolchildren

  • Uplift the elderly and isolated

  • Empower local tourism workers

  •  Teach English to underserved youth

Join Our Mission:

Whether you’re traveling with us, supporting from afar, or simply sharing our story, you’re part of something bigger—a global community of givers, believers, and change-makers. Together, we’re building a community that thrives—spiritually, culturally, and economically.
